Integral Items of Education

At Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, education is not limited to academics alone. We believe in the holistic development of every student—physically, mentally, morally, socially, and spiritually. The following Integral Items of Education are essential components of our curriculum and co-curricular framework. These activities nurture well-rounded personalities who are responsible, self-reliant, and culturally rooted.

Digital Education

To prepare students for the modern world, digital literacy is given top priority. Our classrooms are equipped with digital tools and smart boards, and students are trained in the use of computers, educational software, and internet-based learning platforms. Digital education helps enhance conceptual understanding, encourages independent learning, and connects students with global knowledge systems.

Maths Lab

Our well-equipped Mathematics Laboratory allows students to explore and understand mathematical concepts through hands-on activities. This experiential learning approach deepens comprehension and builds a positive attitude toward the subject. Activities include models, puzzles, games, and real-life applications to make math meaningful and engaging.

Disciplined Behavior in the Classroom and Elsewhere

Discipline is the backbone of character formation. Students are taught to maintain respectful conduct, punctuality, and a sense of responsibility both inside and outside the classroom. Through consistent guidance and a value-based environment, students imbibe habits of self-control, courtesy, and integrity.

Prayer and Meditation

Morning prayer assemblies and guided meditation sessions are integral to our daily routine. They instill spiritual awareness, discipline, and inner peace in students. These moments of quiet reflection prepare the mind for learning and build a strong moral foundation based on values such as gratitude, humility, and mindfulness.

Social Work and Self-Reliance Programmes

We believe education must also foster social consciousness and responsibility. Through community service, cleanliness drives, and voluntary activities, students develop empathy and a spirit of service. Self-reliance activities like basic life skills training, time management, and practical work experiences are also promoted to instill confidence and independence.

Yogasanas, Games and Sports

Physical well-being is essential for overall growth. Regular training in yoga helps students develop concentration, inner calm, and physical fitness. In addition, our school offers structured sports and games programs that foster teamwork, discipline, resilience, and a competitive spirit. Students are encouraged to participate in both individual and team sports.

Handwriting

Good handwriting is a reflection of clarity and discipline. Special attention is given to handwriting improvement across all grades. Through regular practice and guidance, students develop neat, legible, and effective writing skills that support academic success and personal presentation.

Music

Music education is an essential part of our co-curricular program. Students learn devotional songs, patriotic songs, and classical melodies, enhancing their emotional intelligence and cultural understanding. Music fosters creativity, harmony, and a joyful spirit within the learning environment.

Devaaram

Students are taught to recite and understand Thevaram, the sacred Tamil hymns sung in praise of Lord Shiva. This practice enriches their spiritual and cultural awareness while helping them connect with the deep devotional traditions of Tamil Nadu.

Scouts, Guides and Junior Red Cross (JRC)

Participation in Scouts, Guides, and JRC programs helps inculcate discipline, leadership, and service-mindedness. Students take part in camps, awareness drives, and social outreach, developing a strong sense of teamwork, civic responsibility, and patriotism.

Bharathanatyam

This classical art form is a treasure of Indian culture. Our school offers regular Bharathanatyam classes to interested students, enabling them to appreciate rhythm, grace, and traditional aesthetics. Training in dance promotes cultural pride, expression, and physical fitness.

These integral items work together to nurture a complete human being—one who is intellectually alert, physically strong, morally upright, socially responsible, and spiritually aware. Through this well-rounded approach, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya fulfills its mission of man-making education as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.
